Bestwood Welfare 'Black Diamonds' Band who are based in Bestwood Village Nottingham are delighted to announce that they have been successful in their application for a grant from the Local Network Fund which is administered by the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation.

The band which has been going over 65 years which was formerly a Coal Mining band received £4820.60 from the foundation which the band will use to purchase new instruments and percussion for its thriving Training Band. Receving this grant will help the band achieve that goal.

The band would to thank the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation which receives its income from local benefactors, businesses and government agencies in helping with our project.

"We are delighted to be able to award this grant to Bestwood Welfare 'Black Diamonds' and we support them in the work they are doing in their community. Nottinghamshire Community Foundation is all about supporting local people to find local solutions to local problems, by distributing money to people who really do and will make a difference for the future", says Zoe Kearns, Fund Development Manager for the Foundation.

Excellent news Richard. I know our Bethany is really enjoying learning to play and it is great that you can give so many youngsters, in your local area, the opportunity to play in a band. Keep up the good work.
