Bestwood Welfare Black Diamonds are back into the swing again and have started the summer season of concerts. The first concert was held at the local village church St Marks Church Bestwood Village Nottingham on Friday 4th May. The concert gave the band to show off its two new groups which was recently formed. The Training Band played for the first time in a concert setting and has now been together a year this month, played six pieces and won the loudest cheer and applause of the night. The other new group is the Swing Band in which several of the members are involved played three pieces and the performance was enjoyed by everyone given that the band had only been practising for four weeks.

The concert also gave the Musical Director, Brian Draper the chance to introduce to the audience and to welcome four new members of the band who are Trev Milner who takes up the Soprano position, Jane Milner, Andrew Street and Claire Franklin who take up the positions on the front row. All four players will add experience, talent and will strengthen the band.

The concert was a great success and many compliments were recived on all three bands. On behalf of the band we would lilke to thank mmebers of St Mark's Church for their kind hospitality on the night.
