Who's is the best rep player at the moment?
My son, obviously!! Josh Green (Gretna)
Repiano cornet with Dodworth Band.
Winners 4th section Yorkshire Area 2006
Winners 4th section Tameside 2006
hahaha, my mum would say that too....
i could be called the best rep player in the midlands now....hahaha, how stupid does that sound, only by default because we won the championship section in the midlands.
the only way to prove it would be to put all us rep players into a contest...
that would never happen....
How can you tell something like that though? You'd have to have a competition with every single rep player in it...and I don't think there's many of them
I'm totally biased but I'd vote for Jack Hardy from Hathern, nice sound and a real back up for me and the front row.
Who knows...too many good rep players out there to tell.
I totally agree.
Lee Rigg without a doubt! He's winning so far i think! When more suggestions are put forward I'll put a poll up and then we'll see
Best Rep player by far Richard Davies BAYV's Rep. Great sound and lots of style.
Another for Lee Rigg here.
Lee Rigg or Anna Hughes are the best around
Lee Rigg without a doubt.
I remember hearing Dyke playing Cloudcatcher Fells at the Open in 1992 (in fact ive got a good quality recording of that performance from the radio!) and there is a moment in the piece where the Rep has a long note at the end of one of the movements - the sound he makes here is unbelievable.
just to be awkward... Lee Rigg isn't playing rep anywhere anymore
Anyway it's blatantly Dave Morton of Huddersfield University Brass Band.
Mike Eccles at Faireys.
Deave for me too! He's the man. Plenty of sound, style and what a technique!
Best in the business!
Has to be Richard Davies at BAYV, brilliant in a class of his own.. (Then again I am completely biased!!!)
That's so sweet (sad) but ever so sweet.
I would vote for you Mr malpas but your not playing rep for anywon!!
Ps you still living in monmouth?! (I havnt seen you in the doll queue in my office yet!)
Ok To Bring The Clear Leader Back Into This Thread, As Stated That Lee Rigg Isn't Playing Anymore! Well I Have News For You All. He Is Back In Banding And Playing With Not Just Any Band! Black Dyke!!!!!!!!!!!
