There is an excellent Trombone player at Amington. Very talented.

    Think he plays bass ;-)

There's loads of really good players in 3rd / 4th section bands round here.

Steve Walkley - bass trombone - Uckfield Concert Brass
Marcus Plant - principal cornet - Uckfield Concert Brass
Sarah Leeves - solo euph - Uckfield Concert Brass
Chris Line - soprano cornet - LGB
Jim Alexander - bass trombone - Battle Town Band (just got into Royal College of Music on a scholarship! Well done Jim!)

    Lots of others as well.

Dave Tattersal, Principle Cornet at Whitworth Vale & Healey Band...

...he has been there for 30 years, always been brilliant, im sure there are a few others out there that will know him and know how good he has always been.

    Several immediately come to mind.

Mark Marsh. Sop at Verwood Concert. Excellent tone and has to be one of the best Sop players in the lower sections.
I agree with Dave Tattersall at Whitworth. A proper chap.
Phil Hirst, Eb Bass at Boarshurst.
The guy who plays Principle Cornet at Coppull and Standish. Been solid and reliable for years.
Paul Dutton, back row at Boarshurst.
Mark Nolan. Now at Brindle but was an excellent euph player when at Longridge.
Martin Walsh, Principle at Eagley Band. A very good solid cornet player.

I could go on for a while, but though all have played at a higher level they are all genuine gentlemen who care about the brass band movement.

I wowed myself the other day. Sometimes I just have to stop practicing to really consider the sound I've just made.

That would be Martin Trumble, and you're absolutely right. I'd also give an honourable mention to our principal euph, Lindsay Shields.

Chris Ratchford - Flugel with Coppul and Standish - played at the highest level on cornet and sop in the past. (Radio 2 quotes live from Liverpool Philharmonic Hall from his time with Bedford Leigh "Gorgeous flugle playing from Chris Ratchford)
