This past Sunday, Besses O’Th’ Barn Band played to a packed house at Radcliffe Civic Suite, as part of a joint Christmas concert with The Affetside Choir. In front of over 300 delighted spectators, the Choir, led by Director Marjorie Haugh, entertained the audience with selections from ‘My Fair Lady’, and Leroy Anderson’s ‘Sleigh Ride’, before the band wowed the audience with a wonderful rendition of Troika, and a beautiful Flugel solo by Bryony Evans of the Peter Graham arrangement ‘Away in a Manger’.

To close the afternoon, the band and choir joined together, under the direction of Besses MD Carl Whiteoak, to perform Gordon Langford’s ‘A Christmas Fantasy’. All in attendance said what a wonderful day they had had, and how much they were looking forward to the next joint concert in the summer.

Besses next play at Stand Unitarian Chapel in a Charity Fundraiser this coming Friday night, 12 december from 7.30pm. The 'Christmas Tour' then continues to entertain the crowds at Ramsbottom Market on Sunday, followed by two concerts the following weekend, on Saturday 20th at St Bernadettes Social Centre, and on Sunday 21st at Stand Golf Club, both in Whitefield.
