A maiden win for Dublin Temperance Band with 10.00 on Noord-Limburge Brass (the only player to show that much faith in them) and 10.00 on Brass Band Bacchus, simple really.

I was in Leuven and had a good day, too bad I didn't think to try and meet you. I wasn't playing but was hoping to get a few contacts as I am working in Vosselaar for a few months and if there is a band in any section who can use me for a few months I should be delighted.

There are several brass bands in that area, and many more fanfare bands and wind bands too! If you're looking for a brass band, try contacting one of the following abnds: (from Retie - conducted by Kevin Houben) (from Tielen - conducted by Raf Van Looveren) (from Wortel) (from Vlimmeren) (from Meer)

all those are from village in the neighbourhood of Turnhout. Retie is the only one that does contests regularly (although they didn't go to Leuven this year)

Vosselaar itself has a fanfare band:
I have never heard of them, so I have no idea what their level is (although I wouldn't expect too much...)

I wasn't in Leuven on Sunday, because we had another engagement with our own band. But I'm supposed to see several members of the NLBB (and of course conductor Ivan Meylemans) later this evening, so I'm interested to hear their story :)

Many thanks, and while I am in Belgium perhaps we can find an excuse to meet up.

The 15th of January, we are playing a joint concert with BB Willebroek in the concert hall of the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. We're going to play the world première of a new piece by Peter Meechan for combined brass and fanfare bands. Tickets will be 10 euro in advance :)

Great concert, met Peter Meechan, heard the world première of his piece Ad Astra (recommended) and discovered Jan H isn't as scary in person as he is on here, he bought me a beer so he must be OK.
