    Hi,

I am looking for a second hand beginners cornet. The options I am considering are as follows:

    Boosey and Hawkes Imperial
    Yamaha YCR2330
    Jupiter 520M
    Virtuosi VB-111L/RB/SP
    Virtuosi 2000 Series, VB-102

Can anyone give me advice/their experience on any of the above.

    Thanks

  2. The virtuosi, would be my best bet. My wife has one and it not only cost cheap, but plays expensive.

i find Rosetti are better build quality than virtuosi! Rosetti are great and really solid.

If it's not for the fair prize, I'd never opt for student cornets, get a normal one. The kids will adapt to the more difficult playing, which is beneficial in the long term.

I played on a Yamaha to begin with, and I found their student model more than adequate for a beginner. When i got a bit more serious about playing I upgraded, but one of my pupils has recently bought a a Yamaha student model, and he loves it.
