I am looking to buy a 2 trigger Bass trombone, but am on a tight budget. - around the £800 mark.

The Problem with this price is that I could get a 2nd hand one in rather poor condition, or a new one that may turn out to be not that good either. :(

Anyone know of a place that is selling 2nd hand for about this price? ALso, has anyone tried the JP bass trombone?

    Thanks

    Andrew.

Don't rush into a sale - bargains do turn up! I picked up the Conn 73H that I now use for pretty much everything 2nd hand from a chap in the Glasgow area for £500 through an advert on tMP. It's not pretty, but it blows wonderfully well.

Always a good idea to contact the music companies like band supplies, Normans etc and even specialists like Raths often have a healthy stock of good quality second hand instruments. Alternatively put up an advert in music colleges and word of mouth via trombone tutors is a good idea as they normally hear about any instruments knocking around. Good luck.

I have been playing on the bands instrument for the last 3/4 years. It's. A Serious double independent plug. It was fairly cheap (<£1000) new. Not sure where you can get them from but might be worth a few minutes searching the net for a UK agent.

    Hi Andrew,

Shawn at First Brass supplies Virtuosi instruments.
Brand New 'Virtuosi Classic' VB 735RB Double plug Bass Trombone. £945 inc. VAT

I haven't tried one myself, but I've heard good reports from players who have.
They normally retail at £1,575 so excellent value for money.

    Good Luck,
    Mark H. :tup
