B&R are pleased to announce that Shaun Crowther has joined the band on Solo Tuba. This follows the departure of David Hebb who spent over 10 years with the band. David leaves to due to increasing overseas work commitments. The band wish him well and offer sincere thanks for his years of exemplary playing and commitment.
Shaun Crowther was Solo Tuba with the Williams Fairey Band for twenty-five years. He has also played with a variety of professional ensembles, such as the Halle Orchestra and the orchestra of Opera North. He studied as a mature student at the Royal Northern College of Music, graduating from the BA in 2001. He teaches Tuba at the University of Huddersfield and also for Hull Music Service, in addition to coaching the National Youth Wind Orchestra.
His contest debut will be at the English Nationals contest at Preston on Saturday 27th June.
