Is there a CD featuring baritone solos?
Did YBS ever bring out "voice of the baritone" ?
Carole Crompton apparently has a solo cd in the pipeline, and I'm sure I read about another one in preparation, but I can't remember who the player is.
Peter, didn't Steve Booth have something planned a couple of years ago?
Our former top baritone, Owen, played 'I know why' as a baritone solo on our CD. Did a fantastic job too.
Isn't Meiso, that peice Dyke did for their Japanese tour, a tenor horn and baritone duet? There must be a recording of that somewhere.
It's on the Dyke 'Essence of Time' CD, which has just reminded, I keep meaning to look for somewhere to buy that CD.
Me too! Magnificent CD!
But I thought the piece was for tenor and flugel horn? But I could be wrong...
(irrelevant side remark: when I was in Tokyo last June, I saw a place on the map called "Meiso"; I even went there but it was just a passenger ferry terminal, nothing much to see...)
I'm pretty sure it's Baritone and Tenor horn. But it is monster high in places, which might be why it sound like Tenor and Flugel.
I think it means "Contemplation" when translated. What that has to do with a ferry terminal, I've no idea!
It's definitely Baritone and Tenor Horn.
I think Dave Childs ventured onto baritone on his last solo CD.
The place on the map that I visited was "Hinode" (another piece on the "Essence of Time" CD )
Really? That would be good- looking for a Christmas gift you see
Let's hope Osian doesn't read this thread then Rhodri?
Eikanger have a lovely baritone solo, Love of my Life, played by Siri Smith on the CD Art of the States. It's very nice although I'm not sure that I would like a whole CD of baritone solos. It would be a bit like all icing and no cake.
Yes he did he played baritone and euphonium on the CD, 'Peace' accompanied by Scottish Co-op.
- He played the rhapsody called 'Don Quixote' on baritone, and had a good sound as well!
