I hope to god it doesnt drag on as long as it did last year....i was so tired - how i managed to carve my way through the opening of Harmony Music i don't know- at least it went slightly better in New Zealand..
As i remember the "facilities" at uppermill left something to be desired by today's standards (I'm being really diplomatic)

  3. i remember the delay was pretty pants, and the drinks were naff too, do you know of any bands competing this time?

    Enteries for Manchester Contest

Any other bands going to this contest? It's going to be a quick contest if there's only the bands mentioned who have entered. Any more bands in second section? Only know of one so far and that's the band I'm a member of.

Exactly John, just how did a section with 7 or 8 bands manage to end up being 7 hours!!!!!!

The mind boggles (adjudicators writing in very very very long hand)...

    Congratulations to Marsden :tup
Another 2nd place to follow the 2nd at the Wilkinson Open. Caps off a wonderful year for the band. I'm sure you'll be right up there come next year's areas and hope your progress continues.

Hope the stage was a bit warmer than it was in St Helens!!

    Thanx Chris :tup

It was definately warmer than St Helens, if anything it was a bit too warm, but I prefer that to freezing. And we only had to wait half an hour from turning up to going on, not like the 7 hours we had last week.

Quite impressed with the civic hall it's a lovely acoustic to play in

Congratulations to MattB and all Littleborough band. 5th is a good result for a band that hasn't competed for some time. I know you worked hard for it so enjoy it! Well done to Uppermill too, winning in your home town must be a special feeling.

I found it to be a very enjoyable day, the atmosphere in the hall was wonderful and a really appreciative audience. Good days contesting!

Thanks folks- we were never going to beat the 'Holy Trinity' of Uppermill, Oldham and Mossley, so it was about as good a result as we could have hoped for. Onwards and upwards........... and yes, it was down to bl**dy hard work!!

  19. 8th Skelmanthorpe B, (Stantonbury Festival) Clive Morris 171 points

Just thought I should correct the info given on the results.
