Killamarsh are off on their annual European Tour at the end of the month and I've noticed a few other bands have done the same this year. We've organised this one ourselves to keep the cost down and I'd be interested to know what other bands do. If we can keep it in the same format it should cover all the questions:

    Band Name: Killamarsh Silver Band
    Section: Ungraded
    Area: South Yorkshire
    Tour to: Czech Repubic
    How long for: 7 days
    How many going/went: 42
How many guests i.e. not members of your band:18
Self organised or tour company: Self organised
    How many performances: 6
Accommodation - Hotel or family stays: Hotel
Transport - coach/flying: Flying then coach
    Cost to those playing: £280
Members cover full cost - or funds raised separatly: Full cost covered
Any other comments: yeah be glad when we get there 20/08/2005

    Band Name: Whitwell Brass Band
    Section: 3rd
    Area: North East Midlands
Tour to: Pfugnstadt (just south of Darmstadt), Germany
    How long for: 8 days
    How many going/went: 43
How many guests i.e. not members of your band:18
Self organised or tour company: Self organised
How many performances: 7 (a couple of these were only short 'impromptu' performances)
Accommodation - Hotel or family stays: Mainly families, a few in hotel
    Transport - coach/flying: Coach
Cost to those playing: £40 (£125 to non players) + hotel costs where relevant.
Members cover full cost - or funds raised separatly: Mainly fund raising with the help of prize money from Butlins and donation from local twinning group.
Any other comments: This was a new venture for Whitwell and was instigated by Bassetlaw's twinning arrangemnet with Pfungstadt in Germany. Our main hosts were Eschollbrüken Band who's members made us very welcome. The highlight of the trip was the joint performance at the end of our final concert.

A selection of photos from the trip can be found here.
