Brighouse and Rastrick Band said goodbye to Euphonium player Cyril Perrenoud as he returned home to Switzerland following his short time with the band. A farmer by trade, Cyril was in the UK for a year studying with Steven Mead at the Royal Northern College of Music and played his final job at the start of July before the band began their summer break.

Cyril, who proved to be an excellent bandsman and committed member of the band had developed an excellent relationship with the euphonium and baritone section who were sorry to see him leave. His time with B&R provided the budding linguists in the band with an opportunity to practise their French speaking, with the odd impression from ‘Allo Allo’ put in for good measure.

Thanking the band for the last 6 months Cyril described playing with the Brighouse as one of the best experiences of his life. The band look forward to meeting up with Cyril next year on his home soil with a trip to Switzerland currently in the early planning stages.
