Band Out To Help At Brown Edge Having just returned from the famous Whit Friday marches in the villages of Greater Manchester, Audley Brass are wasting no time in helping out a good cause in Brown Edge. The band, in partnership with the PTFA (Parents Teachers and Friends Association) at Brown Edge Primary School, will be providing a concert and try – out session to help raise money for the refurbishment of the old Headteacher’s house in the village. The fun begins at 6.30pm on Saturday 16th June when members of the band will allow people of all ages the opportunity to try out a brass instrument. This will be followed by a concert beginning at 7pm in the Village Hall. Andrew Hields, a teacher at the school and a cornet player in the band said: “This is a great way for the band to promote brass playing. It is also a great that the school is helping out a fantastic community project.” Tickets are available from the school and cost £5 for Adults and £2.50 for children.
