The Association of Band Traders has kindly donated £300 to be
distributed between each of the competing Youth Bands at the
Brighouse March & Hymn Tune Contest on Sunday, 1st July.

The 5 lucky entrants will also compete for:
the 1st Prize, Best Soloist Trophy, a Kirklees Music Voucher and Best
Deportment Prize in their Section, getting the contest underway at 1pm.

A total of 27 bands will take part in this 8th Annual Charity Event.

Last year’s contest was awarded a trophy by Lions International
for continued success with this charity event.

This year a new trophy has been donated by The Friendly Band
for Section 4 bands in the Hymn Tune Section.

and they are grateful to ABT for their support, along with the other major sponsor Yamaha-Kemble Music (UK) Ltd. with their
donation of a new “Xeno” Cornet to be presented to the
best Principal Cornet player in the Contest.
