    Hello!
The last time we posted here was for our current Musical Director and what a find that was - thank you very much! We're hoping for the same success in our search for an Assistant MD to join our happy band!
Our current Assistant Musical Director wishes to retire from conducting to concentrate on the playing side of things hence this vacancy arising.

A bit about the Bradford Metropolitan Concert Band (BMCB)......

    Bradford Metropolitan Concert Band
are based in Baildon, Bradford and have a 30 strong membership with good attendance at rehearsals and engagements.
As a wind band, we welcome woodwind, brass and percussion players who are over the standard of grade 5 (approx).
We perform a variety of engagements from Bandstands to Concert Halls and have a sensible number of gigs in a year. Next year Bradford is hosting a variety of events to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the BMCB will be involved with these celebrations, as well as our regular commitments.

We are a friendly and welcoming band and very much up and coming, having seen some 10 new players join in the last 12 months. We have a dedicated bandroom, library and instrument store.
Our library is fairly extensive and we have good availability of uniform and instruments.

The band rehearses on Sunday mornings (10am-12noon) and Thursday evenings (7.30pm-9.30pm) at Baildon Hall. The Hall is a private members club which members of the band have access to and this houses a bar and restaurant.
Further info can be found on our band website at www.bradfordmetroband.co.uk

What does the job of Assistant MD of BMCB entail?

The Assistant MD will be expected to take rehearsals and concerts in the MD's absence and will be given the opportunity to take part in concerts regularly. So, if you would like the chance to work with an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and supportive MD, a library full of a variety of good music in a warm and welcoming band atmosphere....... please get in touch!

In the first instance, please email mdbmcband@aol.com or reply to this website.

Many thanks for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you very soon!

Well spotted! Our MD is Louise Lingard-Snape and there's a page on the website with her biography on it! A more supportive, enthusiastic MD you couldn't hope to meet or work with. Please get in touch if you are interested in the Assistant MD position.
Many thanks for reading the post!
