I wondered if there is anyone in here who still enjoys the old vinyl records.

I am looking for old records of bands like Munn and Felton, CWS Manchester and others. Do you know where you can get those records - I have tried Ebay, but I wondered if there are any specialist sites (or actual non-web shops) that cater to dinosaurs like me.

    Cheers Erik

    Wow - thanks!

That was just what I was looking for :D

  4. Yes, great site, I fancy buying a few of those. Now all I need is a record player to play them on...

Fortunately there is a growing market for turntables - also second hand models. For a very modest price you can get hold of some great vintage models like Technics from the 70's or Rega Planar from the 80's or 90's. Just today I saw a Rega Planar 3 in great shape for around 100 pound. That was the HI-Fi choice for many students when I went to university some 20 years ago.

If you've got the time and patience, charity shops can be a great source and at about £1 a time cheap too.

Maplins stock a very good selection of turntables.
You can also transfer vinyl to MP3
    I've got one, they're brilliant.

Keith Quinn (aka Pondasher) also has a good website with lots of vinyl listed.

Re turntables - you can't go wrong with a SME model 20/3 if you're looking for quality playback.

Alas, I think Mr Quinn is no longer trading. I don't know what happened to his stock.
