Do we have any canucks in the house?
Saw this on Urban Dictionary and thought it was quite amusing...

Not sure about some of the claims in #21, I thought zippers were Swedish and telephones & penicillin were a Scottish invention? Maybe I'm wrong or maybe that's what Canadian History teachers tell all pupils in Canada.

Hmm I could question a few of those if I CBA....

Penicillin was first discovered by Alexander Fleming who was Scottish, the common theory is that the telephone was also a Scottish invention, by Alexander Graham Bell, although there are a few other inventors who have claim to it (no Canadians though so far as I remember). I thought Velcro was a NASA invention for the Apollo space programs, but looking it up on Wikipedia it seems it was invented by a Swiss guy by the name of George de Mestral.

Still, anyway, who am I to question the nation that gave the world Gilles Villeneuve? :)

Only problem with that is they also gave us his offspring, Jacques Villeneuve!

I'm sure zips were invented by Zundback of Sweden.
