A member of our band (not on here) thought it would be funny to get a mate to ring my answer machine and leave a message to the effect that he would be interested in booking the band for a summer fete, a number was left and I was asked to ask for Lyons.

Needless to say the number wasn't local and is in effect Chester Zoo (Lions) haha.

I intend to turn this round and let the band know that we now have a booking at said location and I thought that Mr Chris Lyons (Sea Lion) should be our contact.

Any other suggestions for animal related names that could also be used?

  4. Actually until 6 years ago the Vet at Chester Zoo was a Mr Lyons (first name Derek, sadly avoiding any really amusing puns).

The zoos switchboards actually get quite pixxed off about these gags since they end up answering lots and lots of calls from gullible people with giggling workmates in the background.

    Other possibilities:

Ms A Teater [Anne] (one of the more believable ones perhaps)
    Mr G Raffe
    Leo Parde
    'Don' Quay
    Anne Tealope
    Mr C Ghulle
    Mr E Mu
    Mr R d'Farquh

    etc etc

  6. I can see this rapidly degenerating into "Late arrivals at the animals Ball......."

    - and before DP or PB say it, believe me when it comes to animals balls I know far more than you'd ever want to know.....

    AC Turtle
    Mr R McDillough
    Walter (Wal) Erbie
    Mrs Kaye Naireigh
    'Oz' Stritch

We forgot those semi-mythical characters, C. Serpent and Mair Made, not to mention their middle-eastern companion, Levi Athan.

    Mr Moth and his Mam.
