Browsing through old copies of Sounding Brass magazine the other day, I came across a reference to a visit by Andre Previn to Besses o'the Barn band in the mid-1970s, when he apparently promised to write something for them. As I have never heard of such a piece, I wonder if he ever got around to it? If it does exist, I'd love to hear it. Perhaps Mr Johnson, who is on this forum and who I believe is a bit of an expert on Besses, could tell us.

    Morning Jim :)

To the best of my knowledge the piece was never written.

The visit to Whitefield was filmed for BBC's Omnibus programme....a photo of Mr Previn, Frank Bryce and my Dad stood just outside the door on Moss Lane used to hang on the wall in bandroom....I'm fairly certain it was still there the last time I went up but that was a while ago now.

I've got an autographed concert programme somewhere I think that belongs to my sister (I was only 5 or 6 at the time ;) )....must dig it out.
