I'd be grateful if someone could give me a realistic price for secondhand Courtois tenor horns models 170 and 180R as I'm struggling to find any useful info on the web.

    Many thanks.

Are you looking to sell or buy? To be quite honest - you'll be lucky to get more than £300 if you're selling...

    I'm selling.
Do you happen to know if both models were about the same quality? Someone told me the 180 is just the newer version of the 170 but I can't find any information to either confirm or deny this!

We tried to sell our horns - but got no-where with them. ours are 180R's. If the two models look roughly the same, then i'd go as far to say that the the 180R is the newer model. They were all awful anyway...

Agreed. I've got one (180R) and it's a real turkey. It has a fantastic sound, but the intonation is just awful, and the valves are really noisy. Can't believe I parted with nearly a grand for it when I could have held out for a second hand Besson instead.
