The players of The Foss Dyke band were extremely excited to perform to a wonderfully enthusiastic audience at St Michael's Church in Bassingham on Saturday the 23rd October. The concert was completely sold out and all arrived armed with flags and song sheets ready for a night of entertaining Proms music.

Rick Anker, just prior to a risky little
    maneouvre which almost cost an
    audience member their toupee

Musical Director Paul Murrell provided the crowds with an exhilarating program - from some clowning around with Solo Trombone player Rick Anker and his performance of The Acrobat (I think at one point during the performance Paul was honestly wondering where Rick had wandered off to...) to an emotional rendition of An Untold Story from Solo Horn player Evan Key. The selection also included all the traditional Proms favourites allowing the audience to contribute with gusto!

Special mention also goes to little Thomas who conducted the band during The Radetsky March - very nearly putting Paul out of a job!

Evan Key with a fabulous performance of "An Untold Story" which captivated both the audience and the band themselves!

The fantastic evening was rounded off with an encore of Land of Hope and Glory, and a standing ovation from the audience (along with cries of "More! MORE!" - naturally).
