The Staffordshire Band present 'A Staffs Brasstacular Concert II', featuring the best of brass playing from spectacular brass players, in the wonderful surroundings of Lichfield Cathedral! The Staffordshire Band, one of the country's finest brass bands are in concert once again, following their last hugely successful last visit to Lichfield Cathedral in March 2014, with 'A Staffs Brasstacular Concert II' The Band have been very successful in competitions and have competed in 9 National Championship Finals and have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall Birmingham, Victoria Hall Hanley together with many more around the UK. They are the brass-band-in-residence at the Forest Arts Centre in Walsall, where they rehearse and produce five 'themed' Concerts per year, using all sorts of audio-visual aids and pyrotechnics! Their Guest Soloist is Peter Moore, Co-Principal Trombone at the London Symphony Orchestra and winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2002 (aged 12 - bet you remember him now!). Following his Wigmore Hall debut in 2008 Peter has given recitals at venues and festivals throughout the UK including The Bridgewater Hall, St George’s Bristol, Conway Hall, Eaton Square, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Leeds College of Music, and the Newbury, Chester and Manchester Festivals. As a concerto soloist he has appeared with the Polish Chamber Orchestra (both in Poland and at the Rheingau and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festivals), the Northern Chamber Orchestra, Brighton Philharmonic and BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Their other Guests are the Friary School Jazz Band who made such an impact at the last Concert and are destined to do it again here. The Concert takes place at Lichfield Cathedral at 7.30pm on Saturday 11th October - remember there is no parking on Cathedral Close.
