Both Normans and Trevor Jones are the cheapest at £1529 but Rosemusic have a shop soiled one (slight scratch on the bell) for £1000 ish. John Packer have a couple of good secondhand ones though.

Try John Bennett or John North at The Music Cellar in Preston. You can play try them there as they have at least 3 new Sovereigns in stock.

    www.themusiccellar.co.uk or 01772 251407.

They offer a "Lifetime Warranty" and their service is excellent.

Price is £1529 quoted by John Bennet today!

I would recommend Band Supplies. I bought a new sovereign horn from them about 18months ago and it's been great. Only got a tiny amount of change from £1500.

    Good luck

Oooo the temptation to respond with some facetious comment!!!

Does this mean that you might stop moaning about a new one??!!

Why does it have to be a Sovereign? Are there not any other reasonable models out there?

Whatever you buy, wherever you buy it from I would NEVER suggest that you purchase ANY instrument without having played it first.
Just because it says Sovereign on the bell DOES NOT mean that it will play the same as any other Sovereign you have played.
Anyone who buys an instrument without having played it first is taking a huge risk.

I have never understood this thing with naming instruments. I have called mine plent of names but certainly dont remember naming one!!

I hope you and your horn enjoy a long and mutually gratifying relationship Jen
