    Hello
Fairly new to brass banding but been playing trumpet/flugelhorn since the 80's currently being the oddball front desk cornet man in a Scottish 3rd section band playing on an Olds special cornet with custom made slide triggers- I did run stirling marathon playing cornet for charity this year

You ran and played at the same time? That's pretty awesome!

    No! Really??

I'd have my work cut out even to walk the length of a football pitch and play at the same time!

The only mouthpiece that would save me from serious injury during a marathon would have to come with a motor and wheels!

I think the technical term for such 'mouthpieces' is exhaust pipes, Mesmerist!

Would that be a Vincent Bach Shadow ?

Surely, if Giles was taking part in a race, it should be a Vincent Bach Lightning?

I have used Bach mouthpieces but mainly for trumpet rather then cornet - perhaps I'll patent a plastic memory foam rimmed mouthpiece and call in MarathonH
