Hi, There are 3 experienced players based in Edinburgh currently seeking a band to play for. We have a horn player, a euphonium/baritone player and a Eb/Bb Bass. We have transport and are good friends. For these reasons we'd prefer to all play for the same band but we realise that we wouldnt necessarily get a contesting seat and therefore are willing to participate and play at non-contesting events. Please get in touch if your band would be interested in accommodating us. Thanks, 'DOM'
We're always on the lookout for new talent, especially those who are willing to 'help' rather than demand contest seats - although, if you're more capable, the seat may be yours.... We're currently 3rd section, hoping to return to 2nd fairly soon (like 2009...), and we're not far from Edinburgh - 30 mins by Lothian buses, 20 or so by car - PM me for details, or follow the link below... (Most band members are 20 to 25, current or recent students, and daft as a brush - come to think of it, we're a' daft....)
Aw Thanks Chunky! If you are interested we're 2nd section, were 7th at Harrogate, rehearse tuesdays and thursdays in the worlds smallest bandhall (except that this is changing temporarily due to overwhelming volume of christmas gigs because we're a very busy band). If you want to see us in action we're competing at Perth next weekend, come up and say hi! Or PM me like chunky said and we'll be stoked to welcome you !
Hi Newland Concert Brass would welcome you along to their rehearsals on Monday evenings in Bathgate, West Lothian. We currently have vacancies for a horn, a baritone and a bass player. (instruments available) Please check out our website for further details on the band or send us an email. newlandconcertbrass@hotmail.com Look forward to hearing from you. www.newlandconcertbrass.org.uk
Loads of brass bands around and probably all of them would welcome new players. You would certainly be made welcome at Newland Concert Brass. Like most brass bands, we have enjoyed times of success, then slid a bit as players move on. Currently we are rebuilding, with a flourishing junior band who are, unfortunately, not quite there yet for the 'big band.' It's amazing how a few departures (e.g. off to Uni in Aberdeen, getting pregnant - for goodness sake!! - or becoming a professional musician) can unsettle things. We've got (IMO) a great conductor, a hard working committee - I'm not one of them - a decent wee band hall and a busy calendar. Come along and sit in a couple of times and see for yourself. PS Don't know any trombone players do you?
