If somehow you have missed it, a brass band recently completed the National 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of the UK Multiple Sclerosis Society.

    3 peaks : 3 pieces
    30 Brass Players
    25 miles walking
    9,000ft climbing
    >100kg brass instruments
For those that dont know what the challenge entails, it is the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales one after the other. Cramped in a minibus with pretty much no sleep, constant sugar highs and lows and mental exhaustion as your day just merges in to one big blur. Its honestly the hardest thing you can imagine for a bunch of amateur climbers, and then you stick in a load of instruments......

    Friday 23rd August
Free concert with St Helens Youth Band (Ashton in Makerfield)
    Drove to Scottish Border
Few hours sleep in a Travelodge
    Saturday 24th August
    Drove to Ben Nevis
Played Flower of Scotland at the summit
    Descended in the dark
    Saved a stranded climber
    Drove to Scafel Pike
    Sunday 25th August
    Climbed Scafel Pike
    Played Jerusalem at the summit
    Descended Scafel Pike
    Drove to Snowdon
    Climbed Snowdon
Played Land of our Fathers at the summit
    Descended Snowdon
Drank, cried, laughed, slept, ached more than you could ever imagine.

If you have even £1 that you can spare to support this superhuman effort then please, please, please donate to the charity.
