Saturday 29th May 2004 saw the 2nd Annual Lordsmere Cup, quick march and hymn contest arranged and organized by the Boarshurst (Greenfield) Band at the Band Club in Greenfield, Saddleworth and sponsored again by Lordsmere Building Inspection Company. John Maines was engaged as adjudicator for the evening and a total of 11 bands, of all sections, took part. Mr Maines on his presentation speech thanked all of the bands for taking part and stated that during the whole evening not one bad performance had been heard.
