Having heard a few bands playing Circumnavigator and i'm sat at the timps for this one, what is the general thought for the penultimate bar timp solo?

    Is it:-

20th Century Fox - Big Grand and may I even say as written slow

    or

like a rat up a drainpipe which it's not written as but i've heard 2 bands play it that way.

Just to put my own mind at rest.

    Many thanks

    Railton

I voted for slow because I think it sounds better, but really the 'right' answer is whatever speed your conductor wants it

    Throw the anchor out!

Think you need a 3rd option, Also Sprach Zarathustra (you know, the 2001: A Space Odyssey sunrise music!)

Gets my vote too - preferably about 3 bars before the timp solo so I can get all the sixes in. :D
