20th century fox fanfare

    Is this available for brass band anywhere?

    I certainly remember having played it with my band.......

    as librarian (!), I shall have a look for you this evening.

    I remember it being at the end of a Bill Gordon piece I played a music school a few years back. I'll try and dig out the title.

    I've been reliably informed that the piece is called 'Western Overture' - good luck tracking it down!

    I'm pretty sure it's also in a Peter Graham piece used by the New York Staff Band.

    I am sure the Red Baron ( stopher here on tmp) has done an arrangement of this fanfare.
    don't know what sort of permission he got to perform it ( am sure FOX would be quite strict on perfomances) but if you drop him a line am sure he would be able to help.

    We have it at B&D. It is arranged by the Late great Stuart Pullin.
    It is not generally available I'm sure he wont mind us photocopying it for you.

    I believe it is indeed featured in "A western overture", part of "A suite of American Overtures", written by Stephen Bulla for the USA National Centennial Congress in 1980, and featured by the NYSB on their 1985 visit to the UK.
