Time for a bit of Paddy like fun without the odds:

19 days to the British Open. This years Open has arguably one of the strongest line ups of the modern era, but who in your opinion will win? To add extra spice predict the finishing order - all 17 bands. Obviously no prizes for the winner other than the kudos of being the person to turn to when picking national lottery numbers

    The bands in alphabetical order:

    1. Black Dyke
    2. Brighouse and Rastrick
    3. Carlton Main Frickley
    4. Co-op Funeralcare
    5. Cory
    6. Desford
    7. Fairey
    8. Flowers
    9. Foden's
    10. Grimethorpe
    11. Hammonds Saltaire
    12. Hepworth
    13. Kirkintillock
    14. Leyland
    15. Milnrow
    16. Tredegar
    17. Virtuosi GUS

Think Whitburn might struggle to get that high up, with them still being in the Grand Shield?

Ah, a very valid point, and well spotted.....I thought they may have got a by into this like Celtic did in the Champions League ;)

Perhaps Whitburn should check if any of the other bands put an unregistered player in for the final couple of bars of last years piece :p

    In your dreams

Do I get to change my lottery numbers after the draw has taken place  Lol

And Ceri, Where are the other 14 places? You don't get off that easily my friend :) Lots of national pride showing through though.

..... and the correlation between the lotto draw and the draw for the playing order at the British Open is ?

I am sure no band has ever found any sort of disadvantage in drawing number 1 at the British Open or the RAH national finals

The correlation is you don't get to choose again after any draw - just being a little lighthearted in my analogy. Couldn't agree more about the number 1 draw being a disadvantage but this is a little bit of fun following the loss of our beloved Paddy.

How about a spot prize for the 1st audience member to spot a photo copy being used ?
