    Here's the draw...thoughts?
I could see any of 4 or 5 bands winning it (obviously 1. Fountain City have to be the favourites and 2. you can guess who I'll be supporting).
Probably the best competition in it's short history!

    1. Madison Brass Band (Madison, Wisconsin)
    2. Fountain City Brass Band (Kansas City, Missouri)
    3. Eastern Iowa Brass Band (Cedar Rapids, Iowa)
    4. James Madison University Brass Band (Harrisonburg, Virginia)
    5. Prairie Brass Band (Arlington Heights, Illinois)
    6. Weston Silver Band ( Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
    7. Brass Band of Central Florida (Orlando, Florida)
    8. Dublin Silver Band (Dublin, Ohio)

Surprised there is so little love for the Canadians (considering they came in third in their debut last year)

Weston........Just happy to be going, it's a great contest, in fact an excellent weekend. What other contest do you attend where you go to a Steakhouse for a sit down meal, a few bevys, [or in some cases more], with all the other bands to get the results. A big 'well done'' to the organisers.
p.s. I'll have a fiver eachway on Weston Paddy.

Only one player had the conviction to stick all 20.00 on Central Florida and it paid off for Ribble Valley Prize Brass. Anyone else noticed who came 3rd?, 20.00 on Dublin Silver from one of their own players in the guise of Dublin Temperance Band (well done Patrick).

The views and opinions of the Dublin Temperance Band do not reflect the views and opinions of the Dublin Silver Band ;-)

Dublin put on a fine show adn certainly took some risks with the entertainment and it paid off, Congrats Patrick, on winning "Most Entertaining."

Thanks for that Ray! I know I told some of your band members this (after the contest), but Eastern Iowa has improved so much over the past few years, and your new MD (of course an Ohio guy :p) kept it going. Your band sounded really good!!!

Problem is every body keeps getting so much better, and other good bands like JMU and Weston join the fray...so it's even harder to stay up there!

Or is that a good thing for banding on this side of the pond at the end of the day?
