Apparantly this site will use a selection of questions to guess and identify the object you are thinking of. It worked for me on two different objects and returned the correct result in 16 steps. Very, very impressive indeed....

    Try it!

I tried the Dutch version, and it took more then 20 tries for all my words, but nevertheless it's still impressive.

Classic example of a self-learning neural network, I guess (adapting the network properties through the answers that are given). Maybe the English version is trained better than the Dutch one...

If you go to the ARGOS website www.argos.co.uk and type 20Q into SEARCH they actually sell them as hand held games. Good fun at parties or on band trips?

I was thinking of a tuba which took it 22 questions, but here are the things it thinks are similar to a tuba:
a fluegelhorn, a french horn, a euphonium, chain mail, a gong, a trombone, an alpenhorn, a trumpet, a suit of armor, a red panda (endangered), chromium, a bugle (brass horn).

So I thought of red pandas and it took 24 queastions and didn't once mentionany kind of brass instrument...
