Ok, so who's the best Bond then??

    I personally would say Timothy Dalton;

Sean Connery has so far had the most successful acting career, although I dont think he pulled of the suave sophistication in the way that Dalton did.

I thought the humour in the Connery and Moore films was just a bit too cheesy...

    So whatcha think...??

    What a fantastic poll question!!

    Timothy Dalton...too Angry
George Lazenby...too blah (maybe because he only had one shot at it)
Roger Moore could almost win because solid all around (even though he wasn't quite brillant at anything)
Pierce Broson had the 007 Cockiness down pat!!!...
but I'd have to give it to Sean Connery just because of how he says Pussy Galore ;)

Too be honest im not a bond fan... I much prefer such spies as Johnny English or Austin Powers, I just found Connery to be a bit too cheesy...

I think Dalton is a great actor, especially in 'the Rocketeer', but Connery is more successful...

I have no doubt Timothy Dalton is a fantastic actor...who could forget him in Flash Gordon!!!

I think that as you like JE and AP...Sean Connery has the same appeal as being a bit cheesy!!

(Please don;t all go super Dan the Man or what not on me again :p)

BTW is Dom still alive? I haven't heard much from his acting career as of late?

(did those trash bag adverts he made in the 80s ever make it in the UK?)

Yeah, he's in a new film out in America called Instant Karma, coincidentaly co-starring with Pierce Brosnan...

Burt Reynolds is in this one too...

(dont remember any trash bag adverts, doubt we'd recieve it, we only generally get imported commercials for really big brands such as; Bud - weis - errr...)

Timothy Dalton was the best for me, aside from the fact that he actually played bond as Bond was written, I think he brought the most charisma and sophistication to the role so far.

Although I've voted for Sean Connery I think it is a close call between him and Piers Brosnan: part of that may be that they have made a conscious decision to move away from the flippancy and excessive humour of some of the intervening films.

Very difficult one to answer this. Extremely close call across the board (except for Lazenby though his effort was one of the best / darkest films). Connery stars in my fave bond film (Goldfinger - "Pussy Galore", "No, Mr Bond, I expect you to die"), Brosnan gets all the best gadgets by a long way, Moore had the role when I first really became aware of Bond films and Dalton plays a superbly gritty bond, especially in Licence To Kill (watched it at the weekend - superb).

However, I voted for Roger Moore, probably because of that whole "formative years" thing... :D

P.S. There's no such thing as a bad Bond film (even Never Say Never Again is better then Thunderball) though Casino Royale comes damned close ;)

It just has to be Sean for me with Pierce coming a very close second.

He was such a dish back then but some of his outfits leave a lot to be desired especially the blue all in one swimsuit he wore in Goldfinger!

    Hell Yeah...

I would go as far as to say I hate the Pierce Brosnan films, far too cheesy, all action all the time without great story-lines...

    Poor Old George Lazenby...

Bond as written was a very nasty piece of work. He's a cold-blooded killer and a rapist. I don't think TD got anywhere near it. PB and SC get the closest for me.
RM was just way camp, poor old GL was just wet and David Niven missed the point entirely...

Who's up next do we reckon? I don't rate Jude Law, far too pretty, would have suggested Sean Bean if he hadn't already been evil 006. Please lord not a Yank, and certainly not a woman. Bond is not a woman!

Has to be Sean. The one line quips are excellent and no can quite deliver them like him.

I read it could be Hugh Jackman... I hope not though because I think he is a great actor...

The poor acting and failing storylines of the new movies would ruin his so far great career...

Maybe they should give it to Robbie Williams, he looks right, and he wants to do it...

Dougray Scott (the bad guy from MI-2) is supposed to be well in the running for the part. I'm betting he'd make a pretty good Bond...
