Paul
Born: Tarpoley, Cheshire February 26th 1969.
Banding Pedigree - Father (Cyril) played for Tarpoley Band for approx. 30 years.

Paul began playing at the age of 11 (1980) starting on the flugel horn (this lasted about 6 months). He then moved on to Eb Bass - he's never played anything else.

Brass lessons at school were taught by David Mouton.
Began playing with Tarpoley Band
At the age of 13 Paul started playing for Crewe Co-op Youth Band. At the age of 15 was a founder member of the "South Cheshire Young BRass" Band (this band later became Normid 2000).

1987 SCYB qualified as the North West Area Youth Band Champions and played in the Royal Albert Hall. It was in 1987 at Pontins that Paul met another South Cheshire player, Gaynor Jones, (Married in 1990).

Banding "funny":
Once went all the way to Watford to play in a competition only to find that when he got on stage he couldn't get a note out of his instrument. In exasperation he turned it upside down to give up - at this point someone else's jumper fell out of the bell end. Needless to say Dad wasn't amused.

Current Occupation: Self-emplyed specialist in fitted kitchens, bedroom etc. and decorating.
School: Tarpoley High School.
