Welcome to Barnton Silver Band

Barnton Silver Band was formed in 1891 as Barnton Temperance Band (see history section). We're currently 4th Section, but we're working on that.
We usually take part in the North West Federation Open Contest in Preston in February, and the Area Contest in Blackpool in March. Other contests in the last couple of years have included Whit Friday March Contest, JJB Beer and Brass Festival and Mobberley.

We're a fairly laid-back and friendly band, new members are always welcome, as are people just "looking for a blow". The time has probably come to start a recruitment drive. We could do with more kids involved. The average age of the band is steadily increasing...

Barnton is a medium-sized village in Cheshire, not far from the old salt-mining town of Northwich.
